Platform Performance Validation Engineer
Job Description
Defines, develops, and performs platform performance validation across Intel products. Drives platform level usage optimization under specific scenarios, develops key performance indicators, landing zones, and performance benchmarks, and drives execution, reporting, and documentation of results. Develops performance validation methodologies, executes validation plans, and collaborates with other engineers for design optimization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis. Performs platform level debug to identify root causes and resolve all functional and triage failures for performance issues. Develops postsilicon validation infrastructure (e.g., performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state space coverage) and test environment used in validation testing. Configures and sets up data logger for performance data collection and analysis. Publishes performance validation reports summarizing all validation activities performed, reviews results, and communicates to relevant teams. Collaborates with internal customerfocused teams and/or directly with customers to replicate and debug performance issues and provide impact assessment of functional bugs on performance. Works with IP, SoC, and software engineering teams to enable continuous improvement in platform engineering methodologies.Qualifications
Candidate must possess a Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a related discipline with min 7+ Years of Experience on platform performance and power optimization is a plus-Good problem solver with strong hands on skills for programming using Python/Unix Shell scripting/C and able to do source code level tuning and debug firmware/platform issues and build scripts for automating workload generation and measurement tasks-Good understanding of Intel Architecture Operating System Drivers, BIOS flows, compute/memory/storage performance design fundamentals- Familiarity with popular server workloads measurement methodologies including SPECCPU, Linpack, FIO, MLC, SpecPower is highly desired.
Experience must also be inclusive of
1. Platform validation and or debug experience Intel Architecture and Server Platform experience.
2.Familiarity with debugging tools such as Intel ITP based environments, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, power meters and DAQs.
3. Must be willing to engage with external customers when needed.
4. Experience with Python or Unix Shell script development
