Embark on an exciting career in Silicon Architecture at Intel, where your academic background will be put to the test in addressing complex engineering challenges. As an early career professional, you will delve into the core of Silicon HW Engineering, enhancing your skills in areas such as Architecture, Enablement, Manufacturing & Product Development, and a spectrum of Validation and Design fields, including Analog & Electrical, Debug, Functional, Power & Performance, Layout, Logic, Photonics, TFM, and more. Your role may also involve pioneering work with AI, especially in the realm of Graphics for Silicon Hardware.
In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Research, evaluate and develop a state-of-the-art machine learning hardware accelerator architecture and design.
- Provide a comprehensive view of solutions and supporting pre- and post-silicon activities in multiple domains.
- Lead systems innovations to advance model efficiency for both edge and cloud deployments.
- Rigorous in-depth workload driven architecture exploration and design optimization using both IP level and system level simulation and emulation techniques.
- Impact and influence the artificial intelligence (AI) product roadmap and development based on profound comprehension of AI and ML algorithms, ML customer requirements, and ML software frameworks.
- Collaborate with product and algorithm teams to analyze next generation requirements and opportunities and influences and guides research and academic collaboration in the space of AI and ML.
- Perform activities related to platform research in ML, such as compute in memory, on-device learning, edge-cloud distributed learning, and quantum ML.
- Develop complex performance and power models using ML/AI techniques. Collect and analyze design performance and power data on pre and post-silicon platforms using simulation and emulation and by developing the enabling firmware, software, tools, and automation solutions.
- Work closely with various teams including customer facing and architectural design teams to explore and validate the performance and power of the next generation of silicon products for Intel product teams and Intel foundry customers.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a Ph.D. degree in any STEM related field with 3+ months of knowledge or experience in the areas of computer architecture, digital design and ML/AI (like generative AI).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interest of the candidate’ advisor to partner with Intel on foundational research that can lead to industrial impact is considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
