AMR Rebates Team Lead and SME Analyst
Job Description
Americas Region (AMR) Rebates Finance Team is seeking a highly motivated Team Lead/Technical Expert to support and guide a team of five analysts responsible for managing SOX Controls and Finance support for the all AMR hosted rebate accounting operations for the region. This role combines technical expertise in rebate accounting with leadership capabilities to oversee SOX controls, ensure timely financial closings, and drive compliance with US GAAP and corporate policies. The successful candidate will bring strategic insight to enhance processes and maintain strong internal controls, with a focus on accuracy, standardization, and continuous improvement.
This position is responsible for (but not limited):
Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of five analysts, providing technical expertise, coaching, and development support to build financial and operational acumen. Set clear performance goals and KPIs for team members and conduct regular performance assessments to foster growth and engagement. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring high motivation and engagement within the team.
Rebate Accounting and Financial Close: Oversee the monthly and quarterly close processes for rebates, ensuring timely and accurate recognition of rebate liabilities. Review and validate journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial processes to ensure compliance with SOX controls, US GAAP, and corporate policies. Perform variance analysis and provide insightful financial reporting to senior management (CAO) for decision-making and external reporting.
SOX Compliance and Controls: Execute and oversee SOX controls for rebate accounts, ensuring all processes comply with audit requirements. Point of contact for internal and external auditors to support audits and ensure the accuracy and integrity of Rebates portion of the financial statements.
Process Improvement and Standardization: Collaborate with global finance rebate controllers to identify opportunities for worldwide standardization and improvements to financial and operational processes. Lead initiatives to enhance automation, reporting efficiencies, and standardize processes across teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for Americas rebates operations, internal and external auditors, and corporate management on rebate-related financial matters. Provide clear and actionable insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, including guidance on GAAP and corporate policy compliance. Represent the rebates finance team in multi-organizational forums as an accounting subject-matter expert.
Risk Management and Strategic Planning Proactively identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, ensuring sound financial processes and controls. Participate in special projects and advisory services, contributing to the development of long-term strategic plans for the rebates finance organization.
This position will require to plan and schedule own work to ensure the timely completion of interrelated to independent tasks and projects with very limited direction (It also requires to work across geos with different time zones). It will also require to apply concepts and draws on a cumulative knowledge base from previous experiences to independently execute an appropriate course of action, as well as develops solutions to a broad mix of moderate to complex business challenges. Interprets information for and negotiates with stakeholders and customers both internal and external to the organization. Provides input to management including department heads, operational managers, other departments, and senior management on QoQ Contra Fluxes and drivers.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting or technical degree in Accounting.
- 6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or rebate management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role
- Advanced English level
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master or MBA degree in Accounting. CPA, CPI, or equivalent certification
- Experience in creating business intelligence analytics
- Proficiency in SOX compliance, US GAAP, and rebate accounting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and financial reporting tools.
