Senior Lab Engineering Manager
Job Description
Directs a lab operations team and oversees various processes of lab operations including equipment engineering, inventory control, purchasing, facility, and infrastructure maintenance. Defines goals, supports improvement of lab technologies, evaluates internal tools and processes continuously, and drives fixes to improve productivity. Translates customer requirements into leading lab strategies and processes, resulting in costeffective processing and development of Intel technologies. Reviews equipment specifications including vendor management. Allocates benches and test equipment to engineers based on project schedule and provides test equipment needs for budget planning. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance related to the lab environment. Manages the training of lab technicians and engineers, oversees that lab procedures are followed, and develops and implements processes to improve quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Plans, provides resources for, and directs lab activities to meet schedules, standards, and budgets. Resolves problems in conjunction with lab customers, quality assurance, and engineering teams. Promotes good relationships and collaboration with internal lab customers and suppliers. Responsible for enabling teams to execute through clear goal setting, facilitating work, maintaining accountability, applying differentiated performance management, and driving team results. Drives results by inspiring people, role modeling Intel values, developing the capabilities of others, and ensuring a productive work environment.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, and other relevant discipline.
15+ year experience and successful history in the field of materials characterization, and failure analysis in technology development and high-volume manufacturing.
10+ years of Lab management experience in technology development, high volume manufacturing in IDM and/or foundry settings.
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven history of taking ownership and delivering lab solutions in technology development and high-volume manufacturing.
Proven history of working with and influencing across broad set of stakeholders.
Prior experience driving lab technology agenda and/or cross-group/function strategic initiatives successfully.
