Who We Are:
The Government Information Technology and Security Team (GITS) is made up of highly experienced security professionals with skills ranging from solutions architecture and information security to application development and service operations and includes regulatory compliance oversight. This cross functional team is focused on supporting the unique information security and compliance requirements for Intel® Federal LLC, a subsidiary of Intel that delivers products and/or services to the U.S. Government (USG). We are growing our secure solution suite to meet U.S. Government requirements for data safeguarding.
In the GITS Team, each person wears many hats and has multiple areas of expertise. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual with strong analytical, communication, and security risk assessment skills and enthusiasm for rapidly learning new technologies. As part of this role, you will be part of an Agile Kanban team and be expected to support, improve, and grow our secure solutions to enhance Intel® Federal's capabilities with a constant focus on regulatory compliance of U.S. Government contracts.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Government IT and Security (GITS) organization is seeking a dedicated Client Engineer to own and operate Windows and Linux clients in a secure work area. We need you to work directly with our architects and product design engineers to understand technical requirements and deliver client solutions that are used to work on multiple federal programs.
We are looking for someone with a passion for IT solutions and information security to join our team. While your day-to-day role will focus on client solutions - members of our team develop multiple areas of expertise through learning (study courses), cross-training and operations support roles. This role will report into the National Industrial Security Program Information Security APT working group.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- You will be part of an Agile team and be expected to support, improve and grow our secure solutions to enhance Intel® Federal's capabilities with a focus on customer requirements, user experience and security
- You will be one of our team members responsible for the deployment and operations of client systems that range from mobile clients, shared workstations, and cloud hosted Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
- You will participate in team operations to evaluate threats, scan, monitor, patch, and add new user capabilities to our client solutions that support program and project deliverables.
- You will partner with your Agile team to prioritize work in a changing risk landscape where there is a balance between deploying new features, fine-tuning security controls and ensuring compliance with corporate cyber-security policies, USG regulations and the standards that must be consistently applied to meet our security objectives
- Your role will include reporting and metrics that measure the health and efficient operations of our client solutions. As a technical expert within the team, you will actively propose opportunities for improvement or automation in client fleet management.
- Finally, as Intel provides AI Tools integration into clients, you will be asked to learn about these new tools, consider use-case examples for daily work, follow IP protection guidelines and innovate and explore this cutting-edge technology to transform how we work.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below:
- Passion for Information Security
- Strong team player who works both independently and collaboratively with peers and teams
- Customer service and stakeholder management skills, including experience in setting and managing user and stakeholder expectations.
- Willingness to quickly ramp up in new security solutions - applying trusted technologies across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess the below minimum requirements and qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
US citizenship required. This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States [federal, state, and/or local] government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents.
Active US Government Top Secret (TS-SCI) with Polygraph.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or any other related Information Technology field and 3+ years of relevant experience
-OR-
7+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
2+ years of related experience with:
- Windows and/or Linux security OS deployment and support, including event log reviews and incident response workflows.
- Log monitoring, SIEM type solutions and workflows.
- Some travel required - less than 25 percent as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), NISPOM, JSIG, NIST 800-53, ICD-503
- Experience with application security solutions (SAST, DAST).
- Cloud security event log reviews and incident response workflows.
- Script writing for automation and integration (e.g. PowerShell, .Net, Python, etc.)
- MS Azure Cloud and Amazon Web Services infrastructure security solutions.
- Privilege Access Management (PAM) or similar tools.
- Identity and Access Management solutions.
- SAFe Agile framework in Scrum and Kanban methodologies to manage operations, engineering, and development workloads.
- Security or Cyber certifications: Security+, CISSP, CISA, GMON, GPEN, GCIH, OSCP, etc.
