Firewall Network Security Engineer
Job Description
Join our Cyber Security Architecture and Infrastructure team as a Network Firewall Engineer. You will identify, develop, plan, implement, and support enterprise security systems using Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to enhance Intel's global security posture. This role involves engineering firewall solutions in partnership with enterprise architecture to design security measures that safeguard sensitive data, protect confidentiality and availability, and ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Identify, develop, plan, implement, and support enterprise security systems.
Collaborate with enterprise architecture to design security measures from infrastructure to software.
Partner with system engineers, network engineers, database administrators, and information security personnel for support, integration, development, and lifecycle management.
Review health measures for various functional performance components of platforms, applications, controls, and appliances.
Support key security systems, respond to security events, and troubleshoot and proactively discover security issues across the enterprise.
Validate security controls to ensure they are working as designed.
Develop new or update existing controls to limit risk exposure and optimize security system performance.
Research new security and information technology trends to drive strategic plans, forward engineering, upgrades, and changes.
Identify, design, test, document, and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, eliminating technical debt, and supporting/administrating key security control systems.
Support lifecycle management of systems, software, and infrastructure.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of experience, OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience, OR PHD with 1+ years of experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or STEM-related field.
4+ years of experience in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of firewalls and related network security technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Remote Access and/or Proxy solutions.
Certifications such as PCNSA, PCNSE, CCNA Security.
Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM.
Experience with Automation and Orchestration Tools.
Understanding of network security and infrastructure policies, standards, and practices.
Practical application of information security risk management.
