Intel Government Technologies:

Intel Government Technologies (IGT) is responsible for managing Intel business with Governments Worldwide. We collaborate across Intel to develop and execute programs for Government agencies. IGT works with and across the ecosystem to deliver mission solutions to Government customers.

Role Description:

The IGT Product Architect resides within the Product Segment Team. This team is chartered with defining, developing, and managing new product and service offerings to meet the unique requirements for government, aerospace, and defense customers. A broad range of initiatives are underway including enhancing Commercial-off-the-Shelf products (eCOTS), developing custom products, and integrating hardware and software platforms with internally and externally sourced technologies. The ideal candidate will have broad technical capability across Intel's architecture, design, fabrication, software, test, validation, system integration, and product support with subject matter expertise on one or more of those areas. The Product Architect will provide multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives alongside peers in the Federal Engineering, Federal RD segments, and broader technical community at Intel. They will engage with product planning, product managers, program managers, and RD functions toward the following responsibilities:

  • Advance new defense, aerospace, and government focused products from kickoff, concept, through execution. Take ownership and delivery of an architectural and technical product strategy that will rapidly deliver outstanding value to our customers while maximizing value to the Intel Product and Intel Foundry organizations.

  • This leadership position demands both technical expertise and strategic vision across many technical domains. You will become a recognized thought leader in current and emerging technology fields of interest to government worldwide. Security, AI, HPC, size/weight/area/power (SWAP) constrained edge systems are areas of immediate interest.

  • Work with SMG and BD team to directly engage customers to understand their mission needs and translate that into technology descriptions for new product offerings from Intel. Drive multiple product initiatives alongside your developed network of internal and external technical experts.

  • Compose clear and detailed technical documentation, specifications, and/or feature descriptions for complex projects across the product life cycle phases. Be able to summarize approach for executive audiences.

  • Interface with engineering execution teams to ensure product development phases and approach will meet strategic vision, financial targets, and customer needs.

  • A selection of the above duties may need to be performed in export controlled or classified environments.


Qualifications


Candidates must possess the minimum required qualifications noted below to be considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to minimum requirements and are considered in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required.

  • Ability to obtain a US Government TS Security Clearance.

  • Bachelor/master's degree in computer science/computer engineering or any STEM related degree, with strong expertise in hardware and software topics.

  • 15+ years-experience in product architecture and associated supporting disciplines; direct experience in getting new products to market highly desired.

  • Experience directly authoring and presenting materials required to progress through the Gladius process (product kickoff (PK), product concept (PC), market requirements document (MRD), product requirements document (PRD), etc.

  • Learns fast and comfortable in evolving environments while rapidly leading teams through ambiguous objectives in a structured way.

  • Ability to understand the broad portfolio of Intel's products, services, and technical capabilities and how they address customer use cases to create differentiated value for global government, aerospace, and defense customers. Understand and apply Intel's competitive advantage in product definition.

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, written and verbal communications skills. Be able to summarize complex and diverse technical subjects succinctly to largely non-technical audiences.

  • Rapid learner and broadly technical capable. Be able to become competent immediately and grow to a subject matter expert quickly.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to sustain business. Expected greater than 10 percent of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Government TS Security Clearance.

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience working in direct support for a government program.

  • Extensive expertise across the Intel product and services roadmaps and playing a formative role in bringing new products to market at Intel.

  • This job is targeted toward a principal engineer, but consideration will be given to strong alternative talent.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US $214,880.00-$303,360.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.
