Environment, Health and Safety Engineer Intern
Job Description
Intel Dalian Memory Technology and Manufacturing (DMTM) is high-volume manufacturing memory fab in Intel China working on leading edge 3D NAND product. Intel and SK Hynix have an agreement for SK Hynix to acquire Intel's NAND memory and storage business. and Intel will continue to manufacture NAND wafers at the Dalian memory manufacturing until the final closing expected to occur in March 2025. Intel DMTM will continue to build on the success of our NAND technology at a greater scale, play a larger role in supporting our customers
The EHS Intern will support the implementation and monitoring of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs at the site, with a specific focus on industrial hygiene and environmental aspects. This role will assist in sustaining a robust EHS management system, ensuring compliance with Intel standards and local regulations, and contributing to the overall safety and environmental performance of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Industrial Hygiene Support: Assist in air quality monitoring, noise assessments, and exposure evaluations.
Environmental Monitoring: Support water and soil sampling, waste management, and pollution control activities.
Hazard Identification: Help identify workplace hazards and environmental aspects; participate in risk assessments and safety audits.
Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data using Power BI and Python; assist in preparing EHS reports.
Training and Awareness: Help develop and deliver training programs; promote EHS awareness and a culture of safety.
Incident Investigation: Assist in investigating industrial hygiene and environmental incidents; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Emergency Response: Support emergency response plan development and maintenance; participate in drills and exercises.
Safety Equipment Maintenance: Ensure availability and maintenance of safety equipment like safety showers and signage.
Chemical Management: Support chemical approval processes; ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
This position is associated with the sale of Intel's NAND memory and storage business to SK. This transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage, and you will be joining a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK group. We will keep you informed updates and steps related to this transaction.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of industrial hygiene and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI and Python. Ability to learn and use EHS management software and tools.
Minimum 4-5 days a week for 4-6 months
