Software Engineer / Simulation Virtual Prototyping
Job Description
The System Simulation and Modeling (SSM) team is driving software-first strategy at Intel through early robust system simulators. We are transforming the way our product firmware and software are developed and simulated in a modern cloud computing environment. We deliver an integrated functional, performance, power, and thermal simulation several quarters before the first silicon. Great simulators result in leadership products by simulating our architecture and software before committing our product execution. We are looking for strong software and systems engineers with a proven track record of leadership roles on large-scale software development projects.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following skills/traits:-
- Strong software development and software engineering and the ability to architect an end-to-end solution.
- Driving initiatives and projects that are directly tied to the development, implementation, and technology of our platform simulators.- Analyze specifications of upcoming new IP's and features including complete platform capabilities.
- Work with Intel software and hardware design engineers and architects to deliver the next generation simulation platform(s)- Exercising judgment and discretion to develop solutions, remove obstacles and redefine approaches.- Assesses risks and identifies solutions to timely, efficient achievement of program goals and ensures that quality standards are met.

- Strong networking and planning skills combined with juggling competing priorities and deadlines and prioritizing based on business impact- Demonstrated creative thinking skills and hands-on experience architecting, designing, and implementing complex software projects
- Proven track record of successfully taking projects and from definition to delivery and adoption
What will you do?
- Develop hardware simulators (Virtual Platform Prototyping) in software, modeling hardware like Graphics, Ethernet and more
- Work with Intel software, hardware design engineers and architects to deliver the next generation simulation platform(s).
- Analyze specifications of upcoming new IP's and features including complete platform capabilities.
- Driving initiatives and projects that are directly tied to the development, implementation, and technology of our platform simulators.
- You will have opportunity to work with hardware architectures and products years ahead before they will be delivered on the store shelfs.
Qualifications
Must have:-
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering.
- Experience into Embedded Firmware, Linux kernel, or Windows development and debugging experience.o SoC architecture and embedded System domains knowledge o Advanced system, kernel and application software development skills.
- Programming skills in C, C++ and Python.- Excellent code design and development practices.
- Excellent debugging skills and experience with GDB.Nice to have:- Knowledge about Virtual Prototyping, Hardware Simulation, Hardware Modeling.
- Experience in SystemC, TLM and DML (intel/device-modeling-language (github.com)).
