Snowflake Development Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Development Engineer to join our Supply Chain IT team. As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data architecture on the Snowflake cloud data platform for Supply Chain Planning Data.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Data Integration and Processing:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design optimal data models within the Snowflake environment.
- Work closely with ETL developers to ensure seamless and efficient data integration processes.
- Building and maintaining Snowpipes and streamings
- Setting up data load and unloads onto Microsoft blob storage
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Develop stored procedures and UDFs using Snowflake scripting/Python.
- Administration:
- Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization, and implement optimizations as needed.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data storage and processing.
- Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years in Data Engineering or in a similar role, with a deep understanding of Snowflake platform and features.
- Strong SQL skills and experience in optimizing complex queries.
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud provider platform.
- Scripting skills (Python or Snowflake) for automation tasks.
- Proficiency in data modeling and database design principles.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of data warehousing best practices.
- Having experience in IT data planning for Supply Chain is an added advantage.
- Experience in creating Power BI reports for data analysis.
- SnowPro Core certified
