AI Research Engineer/Scientist
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate researcher to join our team in Intel Labs, focusing on robustness of multimodal foundation models and AI systems research. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing state-of-the-art research in machine learning and AI systems, collaborate with the research team contributing original research in advancing robustness of natural language and multimodal understanding, implement optimized solutions on Intel platforms, and develop efficient generative AI systems towards a significant impact on product roadmaps. Join a team of researchers at Intel's System, Software and Architecture (SSA) Labs. SSA team's mission is to research and develop software-driven system architecture innovations to fuel Intel's continued growth in hyper-scale cloud datacenters, high-performance computing (HPC) and intelligent edge infrastructure. As a Research Scientist in our organization, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to state-of-the-art research in robust AI systems and make an impact to future product roadmaps. You will be working in a research organization, collaborating with talented researchers who have a proven track record of publishing in leading AI/ML venues and real-world product impacts. The candidate is expected to have strong research ability, software development, problem-solving and analytical skills. Responsibilities: � Perform state of the art research in machine learning and AI to advance robustness of multimodal foundation AI models and systems. � Design and develop novel AI algorithms, models and systems for trustworthy natural language and multimodal understanding. � Implement optimized uncertainty-aware AI algorithms and models on Intel platforms with machine learning frameworks and languages, including but not limited to PyTorch and Python. � Collaborate with the team to advance the research and publish state-of-the-art original research and influence future product roadmaps. � Collaborate with business units to transfer technology towards product impact.Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
� Ph.D. Freshers or with 1 or 2 years' experience or Master's degree with 4+ years' experience in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Electronics and Communications Engineering, AI/ML or relevant technical field.
� Experience with development of efficient AI models, finetuning multimodal foundation models, and system optimization.
� Excellent skills in natural language processing, computer vision, and multimodal AI systems with strong deep learning fundamentals.
� Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages, experience with PyTorch framework, or other machine learning and scientific libraries.
� Familiarity with uncertainty estimation methods in deep neural networks.
� Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
� Track record of publications in AI/ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR, EMNLP etc.
� Demonstrated deep learning and software development experience with open-source contributions and participation in AI/coding challenges.
� Experience with Transformer and Foundation models.
� Research experience in data-efficient and adaptive AI algorithms design and development such as domain adaptation, active learning etc.
� Experience in low-precision optimizations and quantization framework.
