Neuromorphic Design Automation Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a Neuromorphic Design Automation Engineer to join Intel’s Neuromorphic Computing Lab who will help drive the Tools, Flows and Methodology (TFM) for our next generation neuromorphic silicon.
Neuromorphic computing takes inspiration from biological systems to realize vastly more efficient AI processors than today's conventional compute systems through memory-compute integration, event-based processing and massive parallelism. Intel Loihi is the leading, most versatile neuromorphic AI processor enabling energy-efficient and high-performance AI applications spanning perception, planning and control tasks from the edge to the data center.
As a Neuromorphic Design Automation Engineer, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Conceptualize, document, and design tools, flows, and methodology (TFM) for use in the physical design implementation of IPs, SoCs, and the interaction/handoff/reuse between IPs and SoCs.
- Perform an active role in creating timing libraries, and models for RV, simulation and emulation for a custom library of asynchronous circuits, optimized standard cells and custom SRAMs, in line with NCL's rapid prototyping framework that supports both conventional synchronous designs as well as non-standard self-timed/asynchronous designs.
- Develop new physical design techniques through innovative scripts, checkers, flows, and other CAD based automation to simplify and expedite the use of these new designs.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or other related field with 4+ years of related experience in physical design implementation and design automation OR Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or other related field with 3+ years of related experience in physical design implementation and design automation.
- 2+ years of experience hands-on experience in automating/scripting in back-end tools: Design Compiler, IC Compiler/Fusion Compiler.
- 2+ years of experience in handling standard back-end file formats: SDC, DEF, UPF, LIB.
- 1+ years of experience in layout and timing closure.
Preferred Qualification:
- 2+ years of experience in library development tools, especially SiliconSmart and Totem.
- 1+ years of experience with back-end verification: FEV, RV, LV.
- 1+ years of experience with non-standard design methodologies, especially asynchronous design.
