As an Environmental Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Represent the Intel EHS Organization in the area of environmental engineering.
  • Comply with all applicable environmental regulations, government requirements and Intel policies for air and or water and waste programs.
  • Influence organizations to maintain environmental performance and limit Intel's environmental footprint.
  • Team with other EHS professionals on a site, regional and global level to share learning, increase innovation and drive synergy throughout Intel.
  • Partner with site, regional and global stakeholders to increase environmental awareness, track, analyze and report environmental indicators and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports, indicators, permit applications/modifications with high degree of quality.
  • Interface with appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and engineering judgment.
  • Represent your region in cross-site teams to increase environmental awareness, share learning, increase innovation, and drive synergy throughout Intel.
  •  Lead compliance self-assessments to gauge the health of the environmental programs and identify areas needed for improvement to ensure regulatory compliance is met.
  • Be the liaison to regulatory agencies for site specific sustaining environmental program support; e.g., New Mexico Environment Department, Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, US Environmental Protection Agency.

Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in any field of engineering or any other relevant sciences like environmental science or chemistry or a Master's degree in any field of engineering or any other relevant sciences like environmental science or chemistry, with an emphasis on environmental coursework.
  • 3+ years of work experience in at least one of the following:
    • Environmental regulations, sampling, emission data analysis, and report writing.
    • Environmental, health, and safety field.
    • Federal/State regulatory requirements in Air, Wastewater, or RCRA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  3+ years of experience with the New Mexico regulatory requirements in Air, Wastewater, Clean Water Act Programs, EPCRA, CERCLA, PST, and/or RCRA.
  • 3+ years of experience working with regulatory agencies.
  • Factory or facility system experience.

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
