Human and AI Systems Research (HAR) is a team in Intel Labs that is focused on multi-disciplinary research spanning ethnography, design, HCI, and AI to create Human/AI collaborative systems that can amplify human potential and create sustainable and transparent AI solutions. We conduct research in the context of vertical domains including manufacturing, education, enterprise, and assistive computing for people with disabilities. We have developed human-machine collaboration to aid individuals starting with the Stephen Hawking project and later made this work open source as the Assistive Context Aware Toolkit (ACAT).
We are seeking a skilled and motivated C# Developer specializing in UI applications to join the ACAT development team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in developing Windows Forms (WinForms) applications, proficiency in C# programming language, and expertise in asynchronous programming and threading, with at least 2 years of experience in these areas.
Please consider this is a Temporary position (1 year).
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- UI Development: Design and develop user interfaces for desktop applications using C# and WinForms. Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces. Familiarity with SharpDX a plus.
- C# Programming: Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and efficient code in C#. Implement software design patterns and best practices in C# development.
- Asynchronous Programming: Utilize asynchronous programming techniques to enhance the responsiveness and performance of UI applications. Handle asynchronous operations efficiently to ensure smooth user experience.
- Threading: Implement multi-threading concepts to optimize application performance. Manage thread synchronization and avoid potential concurrency issues.
- Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing of UI applications to identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and other software defects.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues related to UI functionality and performance.
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with remote team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications,
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced English level.
- Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico.
- 2+ years of experience working with asynchronous programming and threading in C#.
2+ years of experience in:
- developing .NET C# applications with .NET SDK.
- developing UI applications using WinForms / WPF.
- using Visual Studio 2019+ IDE.
1+ years of experience:
- using version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools
- working with Object Oriented design and development.
- approaching to software development - clearly document code, follow coding standards, unit test the code.
Preferred Qualifications,
preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.:
- Experience with Open-source development.
- Localization (support for multiple languages).
- Experience with assistive technologies.
- Experience with installers, e.g., NSIS.
- Experience with technologies such as Windows UI automation accessibility framework, Text-to-Speech, language models.
