The EMEA Global Trade Specialist will be responsible for ensuring barrier-free trade, establishing effective internal controls to protect Intel, optimizing trade performance, and reducing costs for our manufacturing operations in Ireland and key sites throughout EMEA.

This individual will interface with key stakeholders across the Company, including internal business partners, legal, supply chain, logistics, finance, external brokers, and government authorities, to provide key inputs that inform business decisions and manage, monitor, and improve preventive and detective trade compliance controls.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Trade Compliance professional and demonstrate an ongoing curiosity and creativity, balanced with the ability to distill numerous inputs and ideas into meaningful actions and recommendations.

The successful candidate will bring excellent technical acumen in Irish Tax and Customs compliance and regulations, interpersonal skills, a teamwork spirit, commitment to cross-collaboration, and customer focus to enable the best business solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Create, implement, and administer customs policy and standard operating procedures to expedite cross-border transactions while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements at site.

  • Identify and maximize duty optimization opportunities, develop policy, and implement procedures in partnership with key stakeholders (e.g., tariff engineering, free trade agreements, duty suspension, duty deferral, exemption programs, etc.).

  • Monitor and interpret changes in country Customs and other cross-border government agency regulations, assess impact on business, and develop strategies to address findings.

  • Manage and oversee all cross-border operations in the country, including site-related activities and ensuring compliance related to duty optimization programs (e.g., Inward Processing, EIDR, etc.)

  • Ensure valuation, classification, origin, and compliance with all customs requirements are fully satisfied to expedite cross-border movements.

  • Manage and oversee Customs brokers, agents, and service providers to ensure adherence to service agreements and compliance obligations.

  • Act as subject matter expert to address shipment-specific issue management and escalation as required.

  • Ensure appropriate coordination and consultation with local resources, business units, and other related stakeholders to support site-level requirements.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for country Customs and Other Government Agency authorities for inquiries/audits and coordinate with key stakeholders on response plans based on the nature of the inquiry.

  • Maintain a close and robust relationship with the Customs and Tax authorities

  • Oversight and support for the implementation, management, and expansion of Trade Security Programs in Ireland such as AEO.

  • Identify and support supply chain and customs initiatives, including country expansion strategies, and develop cross-functional relationships at the peer level.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree (e.g. JD, MBA, etc.) is highly desirable.

  • Degree in business/international trade/law/finance/logistics preferred

  • Expert understanding of Irish customs and tax regulations and processes

  • Experience communicating with government trade regulators and senior business leaders

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience

  • Good attention to detail, good problem solving and good influencing skills

  • Strong business acumen and business partnership on-site activities

  • Must be a self-starter, independent and be able to work with remote team and manager

  • Able to manage communication with multiple business partners with discipline and in a timely manner.
