The Network and Edge group (NEX) at Intel drives the software-defined transformation of the world's infrastructure - in data centers, in networks, and at the edge. We are a team of problem solvers, experimenters, and innovators who are dedicated to designing the network technologies that currently lead and continue to transform data-center and AI ecosystems.

We are seeking a self-motivated validation engineer to join a growing team of Firmware developers who focus on moving Intel's IPU solutions into new market segments.

In this position with the NCCG firmware team, you will be responsible for strong technical contributions within the firmware validation domain. Your responsibilities will include participation in improvement initiatives to increase our overall quality and efficiency (e.g. regression results monitoring, traceability to requirements, code coverage analysis).

You'll be expected to engage in debug of test failures to root-cause and resolve issues in both test and firmware code.

Our team values firmware quality and its continuous improvement as a keystone to successful product development. We are looking for an engineer who values quality as an integral part of the firmware development lifecycle and who can champion continuous improvement in this area.


Qualifications


What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus 1+ years of industry work experience, or- Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus 4+ years of industry work experience.
  • 1+ years experience in scripting with Python.
  • 1+ years experience with testing and debug.


Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience in C#.
  • 3+ years of related experience in firmware or software validation.
  • Experience with CPU multitasking concepts including: task switching, deadlocks, interrupts and resource management.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with firmware development environments including compilers, debuggers, and emulators.

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in Canada:CAD 85,600.00-128,200.00
Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
