cnvrg.io (an Intel company) is building the future of AI cloud. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join a unique opportunity that combines working in a research lab and building an AI product.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual with a strong background in data science, deep learning, and a proven track record of successfully delivering impactful projects. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field, along with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and Innovation:

Lead and contribute to research projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of NLP models and its applications in various contexts. Contribute to the company's innovation initiatives through the exploration and implementation of cutting-edge techniques.

  • Deep Learning (DL) Model Development:

Design, develop, and implement advanced deep learning models such as Large Lanauge Models (LLMs) and diffusion models in production environments. Experience with Large Language Models is crucial, with an emphasis on training, fine-tuning, and inference.

  • Applied Data Science:

Design, analyze and intergrate AI based solutions using production solutions. Ability to understand real world use cases and tailor the AI experience to customers’ needs.

  • Optimization:

Optimize model performance in terms of both speed and accuracy.

Implement best practices for efficient model fine-tuning and inference for maximum efficiency in production environments.

  • Tool Proficiency:

Utilize and be proficient with tools such as Kubeflow and ML flow to streamline the end-to-end machine learning workflow. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into production environments.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with product managers, data engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.


Qualifications


  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Experience as NLP engineer in a software company.
  • Experience working with LLMs in end-to-end solutions.
  • Proficiency in conducting cutting-edge research in NLP and LLMs.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Kubeflow and MLflow.
  • Experience optimizing DL models for speed and accuracy.

Advantages:

  • Track record of independent research excellence, and/or relevant publication record in DL/NLP venue such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, EMNLP.
  • Experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Background in optimizing machine learning models for deployment on cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with other automated machine learning (AutoML) frameworks.

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
