Graphics Research Organization at Intel invites you to join its world-class team as a Research Scientist Intern in Graphics. This is an exciting opportunity for those who are eager to shape future cutting-edge technologies and experiences in graphics. You will work with industry-leading experts conducting research, analyzing, and devising new techniques in real-time 3D rendering or other highly parallel algorithms. Your research and publication will have potential to impact Intel graphics hardware and software products, industry, and academia. We're looking for graphics explorers who are collaborative and team oriented with strong written and verbal communications skills, ready to follow ideas and findings wherever they take you to innovate and make a difference with Intel real-time graphics.

Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
The Candidate must be pursuing a Master's degree or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a similar field with an emphasis on computer graphics.

1 + years of experience in below areas:

  • Good modern C/C++ programming skills.
  • Experience in developing advanced graphics algorithms such as: rasterization, ray tracing, physically based light transport, sampling strategies, acceleration structures, etc.
  • Familiarity with at least one modern real-time graphics API (e.g. Vulkan, DirectX 12), shading languages (e.g. GLSL, HLSL), and working knowledge of applying it in the domain of ray tracing and GPGPU.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Publications at top tier-1computer graphics conferences and/or journals
  • Mathematical background and understanding of linear algebra, numerical optimization, probabilistic estimation.
  • Relevant research or software engineering work experiences, including internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open-source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
  • Knowledge of geometry processing methods, such as higher-order surface representations (e.g. SUBD, parameterization), and view-dependent adaptive level-of-detail selection.
  • Knowledge of GPU architecture and/or GPU workloads and performance characteristics
  • Experience using profilers and debugging tools for performance analysis.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $63,000.00-$166,000.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
