FPGA IP Development Engineer
Job Description
In Q4 2023, Intel® announced Altera® will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel®. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.
Altera® is looking for a Senior FPGA design engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be joining a small team of experienced FPGA RTL, Verification and Software engineers building system level example designs and reference designs that act as starting points for customers. Responsibilities will include working with stakeholder teams to understand and document system requirements, building FPGA designs with various interfaces and IP, writing and reviewing test plans, implementing simulation frameworks and testcases in UVM, bringing up and debugging designs in hardware, providing technical support to customers. You will also provide excellent communication and must be able to conduct presentations.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirements
BS degree with 6+ years related experience OR
Master’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years related experience in a related field.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in FPGA design, verification and bring up skills.
Experience in taking FPGA designs from requirements gathering from stakeholders to architecture to implementation to hardware.
Experience with FPGA tools and timing closure.
Experience with System Verilog and RTL coding skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in OVM/UVM, and Modelsim/Questa simulator.
Experience with high-speed transceiver protocols such as PCIe and Ethernet.
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL, Bash, etc.)
