Job Description


An opportunity for a Silicon Firmware Development Engineer working on Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI FW) is available. Develop UEFI FW, reference code and related documentation to enable Intel silicon products dedicated to client and server markets such as next generation chipsets and CPUs. Work closely with Intel silicon design teams and be involved in UEFI FW related subjects during planning, development, validation and enabling stages of client and servers programs.
You will be working on Intel next generations products and will have an opportunity to gain an experience with best-in-class client and server technologies like performance efficient power management, servers manageability, CXL and PCIe standards implementations etc.
You will be a part of the global team providing UEFI FW components enabling crucial technologies for many Intel client and server platforms.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Collaborate with HW design team, HW validation and customers on FW requirements definition

  • Manage client and server Si Enabling UEFI FW requirements

  • Architecture and design UEFI FW solutions

  • Develop UEFI FW in C language

  • Test developed UEFI FW

  • Debug and support current UEFI FW

  • Integrate UEFI FW with other client and server HW and SW platform components, like CPU, PCH, FW, OS drivers, etc.


Qualifications


Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science or Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering with 3+years of Industry experience

  • Proficiency in Assembly and C programming

  • Knowledge of Intel architecture: x86, x64

  • Ability to review code from functional and security standpoint

  • Good teamwork and cooperation skills

  • Good English skills for verbal communication and technical documentation authorship

  • Good presentation skills

  • Practical experience with source code management tools, for example Git and GitHub

  • Proactive, independent work style, ensuring efficient and timely project execution.

  • Willingness to learn new topics, improve own skillset, influence processes to increase team efficiency


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with board bring-up and systems debugging to ensure seamless hardware-software integration

  • Experience with hardware/software interactions, embedded firmware or real-time operating systems

  • Experience in layered designs, software patterns for embedded systems and resource management

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
