Process Engineers develop, qualifies, and sustain metrology tools such as vision, optical inspections, and measurement tools in semiconductor fab manufacturing operations. Plans and implements capacity, and operational improvements to maximize output while improving the safety and quality of operations.  This position requires a candidate who is highly passionate and competence to:

  • Lead and participate in tool qualification, conducts tests and measurements of their operations to determine control over critical dimensions and defectivity of the process line.
  • Recommends and implements modifications for operating the equipment to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, and optimizing production output for existing products.
  • Establishes and submits processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment.
  • Exercise independent judgement and discretion by making recommendations and adjusting tools and processes reactively when something has changed on the line or proactively to maximize output. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.
  • Work effectively with the equipment supplier to identify shortcomings, propose and evaluate hardware modification to mitigate issues.
  • Operate manufacturing line to integrate the many individual steps necessary for the manufacture of complex microprocessors.
  • Install ramp to manufacturing volumes to demonstrate the technology meets requirements.
  • Define and establish flow, procedures, and equipment configuration for the module, selecting and developing processes and equipment to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Create innovative techniques using the current tool set, to provide novel inline information.
  • Conducting process, equipment and material development projects with equipment and material suppliers.
  • Developing solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools. Train production/receiving process engineers of high-volume factories.


Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • The candidate must possess a Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or an equivalent STEM field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in fab module or integration including technology development, transfer, qualification, matching, ramp, and high-volume manufacturing sustaining.   
  • Track record of successful mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, accomplishments in technology transfer, and operational excellence of tool or layer ownership.   

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Leadership experience in task forces, training, IMT,  
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment installation, qualification, and maintenance
  • Equipped with Lean Six Sigma knowledge and statistical knowledge
