The Local Statutory Accounting Manager is responsible to drive transformation to best practices for Processes, Procedures and Policies for Statutory accounting and compliance activities across the Legal Entities under the management of the International Corporate Accounting (ICA) organization in Malaysia. Key responsibilities include:
1. Reviewing work of entity accountants to deliver high quality, timely and value-added outputs to ensure Intel complies with all Accounting statutory requirements, laws and accounting standards. These may include audited financial statements, letter of representations, grants and incentives compliance and other accounting governmental submissions.
2. Act as a Technical advisor (Legal Entity specialist) to stakeholders and directors to manage various compliance matters to ensure we keep Intel Legal. Leveraging subject matter expertise and high technical knowledge competencies to partner with stakeholders for effective resolution of complex accounting issues. Manages risks and controls applying sound judgment and analysis.
3. Supporting transformation journey and continuous improvement projects and driving Innovation and best practice for Intel in Local Compliance Governance and Operations. Our transformation journey encompasses new local statutory books and systems upgrades, process driven standardizations and automations, driving future ready technical skillsets and end to end connected reporting. This may include scope such as statutory reporting, liquidations, legal entity restructures, US GAAP close packages etc.
4. Supporting Legal entity rationalization, elimination and restructuring exercises to work on material and unique transactions and ensure alignment with US GAAP and local compliance implications.
5. Leading customer relationships - Ensuring engagement, value added insights and support to key stakeholders and partners across Intel Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Trade, MnA, HR, Procurement, Corporate Services and other Intel Partners.
6. Support for SAP S4 system design and implementation solutions which may include local statutory process standardization and optimization to cater SAP S4 system
7. Other responsibilities may include supporting operational duties for a smooth running of the local statutory organization and other ad-hoc projects.


Qualifications


1. Bachelor's degree or Professional Degree in Accountancy. 2. Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA or equivalent). 3. Min 8 years of experience or more working in a global organization. External auditor experience or knowledge/ experience with SAP S4 is preferred/ an added advantage. 4. Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and Local GAAP as well as understanding of local laws and regulations. 5. Demonstrate strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skill, able to work independently and across various functional teams. Ability to effectively work across organizations and geographies with tolerance for high ambiguity. 6. Results driven and organizational savvy. Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to challenge the status quo. 7. Strong capability in financial systems will be an added advantage, including SAP, Local GAAP and Reporting systems.

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
