The Intel Automotive Business Unit is leading the way to transform the way we move, work, and live by driving the definition, development, and delivery of commercial and consumer solutions across automotive and infrastructure markets like Software Defined Vehicle and Electric Vehicle.

We're a strong, vibrant, and agile global team that is responsible for developing a variety of comprehensive HW and SW solutions for products desired by our customers and markets.

As Graphic Software Architect, you will be responsible for the definition of the graphic subsystem architecture for our new programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding how typical automotive In-Vehicle-Infotainment (IVI) requirements, workload consolidation and connected mobility features work best together for our new automotive platforms

  • Analyzing customer requirements

  • Collaborating with stakeholders (Platform Architects, System architect, Software and Hardware architects)

  • Defining the subsystem architecture (design specification, requirements)

  • Coordinating the support for the legacy IVI programs in the graphics domain

  • Knowledge sharing and growth of experience in the graphic domain for the Intel Automotive organization


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • You should have proven experience in general IVI system architecture with distributed topologies (Head Unit, Instrument Cluster, Amplifier, Gateways, ADAS and other ECUs in the car)

  • 10+ years of experience in defining and implementing SW Architecture for Automotive systems.

  • Linux and Android Graphics experience: Wayland compositor and related technologies, MESA, Android graphics system and rendering stack, GPU virtualization techniques

  • Display and pixel transport expertise: Understanding and knowledge of pipes, planes, framebuffers, pixel clocks and other related technologies

  • Video Pre/Post Processing and Media encoding and decoding

  • Automotive Embedded Systems Experience: Knowledge of automotive hardware graphics, graphics interfaces and display technologies and their capabilities

  • Automotive Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific requirements and constraints of the automotive industry, including safety standards, real-time performance, and automotive-specific graphics APIs

  • Strong Software Architecture Skills: Ability to design and create scalable, modular, and maintainable software architectures for graphics systems

  • Proficiency in designing APIs, frameworks, and tools for graphics development

  • Extensive experience with software product life cycle, Agile methodologies

  • Proven leadership, team building, excellent English verbal, presentation and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, and motivate senior engineers and Intel internal partner teams is required

  • M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field of study

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Graphics Programming: in-depth knowledge of graphics programming languages such as OpenGL, Vulkan or DirectX

  • Hands-on software development experience in Python, Rust, C and/or C++

  • Understanding of rendering techniques, shaders, and graphics pipeline optimization

  • Ability to work with distributed teams, in different time zones

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
