Responsibilities for this Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer may include, but may not be limited to:

  • As a CPU Verification Engineer owning the verification of a certain area of functionality in a CPU microcode, you will have the responsibilities as follows:
  • Develop microcode C based Testbench to verify the design
  • Work closely with architecture and microcode designers on verifying the functionality correctness of the microcode design
  • Develop and lead test plan and test environments
  • Develop complex tests in assembly according to test plans
  • Develop coverage monitors and analyze coverage to ensure all the test cases in the plans are covered

Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of relevant work experience or Master's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant work experience

• Knowledge of digital logic design, CPU architecture and microarchitecture

• Experience with developing testplans/testbenches and writing/debugging assembly-based tests

• Good programming skills in assembly, C/C++ and scripting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in developing CPU simulators, processor verification a plus

• Experience with advanced verification techniques such as formal and assertions a plus

• Experience in SOC bring-up a plus

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $123,139.00-$203,801.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
