As a Mechanical Engineer intern, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the site's HVAC, exhaust, large scale water systems, boilers, chillers, compressors and dryers, among other systems. Your focus will be on a number of energy conservation projects that will reduce electrical and utilities consumption at Intel’s site in Hillsboro, Oregon. On these projects, you will get a breadth of experience working with senior engineers, suppliers, and data center and lab customers. You will communicate strategic and tactical concepts across a wide range of employees including engineering peers, operational technicians, and management.


Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.


Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in one ofthe following -

  • Data analysis and statistical process analysis capabilities.

  • Possess problem-solving skills and demonstrate application of structured problem-solving methods and tools.

  • Experience with Statistical Process control.

  • Experience working in a production environment and/or with other facilities process systems.

  • Experience commissioning Mechanical equipment such as pumps, boilers,

  • Experience with project planning, coordination and integration.

  • Willingness to professionally present to peers and leadership at site at cross-site meetings and actively participate in cross-site tasks as directed

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
