The GPU HW IP team (GHI) located in Poland (Katowice), is looking for GPU Computer/Graphics Hardware Design Engineer.


This position provides a unique opportunity to mix and grow with multiple responsibilities in C/C++ modelling, micro-architecture development, RTL coding and/or Formal verification and pre-silicon verification/validation.


You will be part of the Graphics core IP team chartered with developing and delivering multiple generations of state of the art, highly configurable GPU Core IP to multiple clients, discrete graphics, and server SoCs.

The Graphics HW Design Engineer will directly report to the manager located in Poland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing SW C-models for the specific graphics hardware subsystem and verifying models with validation test benches to fulfil architectural requirements with excellent quality

  • Feature evaluations for power, performance, area, complexity and effort trade-offs

  • Develop IP collateral such as microarchitecture spec, design spec/RTL code, validation environment/checkers/trackers, test plans, white box coverage or FPV assertions

  • Drive initiatives to improve design or validation quality, efficiency and velocity of the teams

  • Interact and work closely with architecture, design, simulation, SW/driver, and verification teams for the development of highly efficient, feature rich and high-quality IP


Qualifications


  • Candidate should have a BSc / Bachelor's, MSc/ Master's or a PhD degree in Electronics, Electrical engineering, or Computer Science engineering with ASIC design/validation industry experience in front-end processes including:

  • Good understanding of functional verification fundamentals encompassing state machine verification, complex protocol verification, functional test strategies, directed and stress test generation, verification infrastructures and verification and/or debug flows

  • Extensive knowledge of Verilog and SystemVerilog and working knowledge of UVM methodology

  • Good knowledge of functional and code coverage

  • Adept in programming and/or scripting (C++, Perl and others) and be conversant with flows and tools for VLSI logic design and/or functional verification

  • Expertise in C/C++ modelling (best if using Algorithmic C / AC-types)

  • Experience in synthesis flow and timing closure

  • Experience in multi clock domain designs

  • Functional and power/performance optimization / and verification (experience in considerations for power, performance and cost optimization is desirable)

  • Experience in reading and writing technical documentation (high-level spec and micro-architecture spec is desirable)

  • Ability to work effectively with both internal and external teams and stakeholders, strong problem-solving and good communication skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Polish language


Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of CPU/GPU hardware architectures and components

  • Deep knowledge of GPU hardware pipeline

  • Knowledge of SoC and Platform level product architectures

  • Knowledge of 3D graphics theory, rendering algorithms and techniques used in games

  • Experience in multi power domain designs

  • Experience in Formal Verification: SVA and DPV

  • Experience with Synopsys and Cadence tools

Working Model


This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
