If you are passionate about seeing your ideas go from white board to billions of pieces of silicon, join the E-core design team in Austin, Texas. Our goal: to build revolutionary microprocessor cores to power the next decade of computing. In this position, you will join the E-core CPU pre-silicon verification team and will be responsible for validating the RTL implementation of new architecture and micro-architecture capabilities.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Technical ownership of validation of a feature, methodology, or otherwise significant aspect of CPU validation.
  • Investigating new techniques to accelerate validation of CPU hardware.
  • Executing functional, performance, and power validation using dynamic and analytical approaches.
  • Developing validation content like tools and test generators to match the complexity of new cores for use in pre-si and post-si.
  • Read and interpret technical specs and create high quality technical documentation like test plans and strategy documents.
  • Collaborate and communicate with architecture, design, pre-si and post-si validation, and other teams to achieve project goals.
  • Contributing to post-silicon debug preparation and sighting resolution.

As a successful candidate, you must possess collaboration skills and the ability to tolerate ambiguity and highly complex decision environments.


Qualifications


What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's in computer engineering or electrical engineering or STEM related degree plus 2+ years of relevant work experience OR Master's in computer engineering or electrical engineering or STEM related degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in computer architecture, including specific areas of technical ownership/expertise relevant to CPUs.
  • 2+ years of experience validation and debug experience such as test writing/generation, checker development, coverage analysis, failure debug, root cause analysis
  • 1+ years’ experience in at least one language: C/C++, Perl, Python, etc.

How to Stand out (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Advanced degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering or STEM related degree and 3+ years of experience in the following:
    • Knowledge of Intel Architecture ISA and system architecture, x86 assembly language.
    • Familiarity with software validation, including microcode, firmware, etc.
    • Experience in post-silicon debug and analysis
    • Intel or industry experience in micro-architecture, design or verification of CPU cores
    • Experience with a hardware modeling language, such as Verilog, VHDL, or System Verilog and industry standard logic simulation tools
    • Assembly language programming, code generation, or other low-level software experience.
    • Validation environment development in C++, Verilog, System Verilog UVM/OVM

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
