Who We Are
The Compute Runtimes Team is responsible for ensuring the functional and performant bridging between high level languages code and low level hardware being used to offload that code. As a member of this team you will be front and center in the leading edge of compute offloading working with both the community to drive leadership and also across Intel working with teams to implement this software into their products going to market.
Who You Are
Join the Compiler Team within the Software and Advanced Technology Group at Intel as a Junior Compiler Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, designing, developing, debugging, and testing compiler software and programming languages. You will focus on advanced compiler optimizations and features specific to Intel Architectures, parallelization, and vectorization through compilers, and support for new programming languages. Collaborate with hardware engineering teams, external partners, and participate in language and standard groups. This position is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative technologies and make a significant impact in the field of compiler engineering.
Your responsibilities include but not limited to:
Design and develop Clang FE, DPC++, SYCL technologies, and tools.
Develop test cases to cover new functionality and increase code coverage.
Collaborate with other compiler engineers and architects.
Work on various compiler technologies.
Design, develop, debug, and test compiler software and programming languages, including advanced compiler optimizations and features specific to Intel Architectures, parallelization, and vectorization.
Engage with companies and communities developing compilers and participate in language and standard groups.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 1+ years of experience or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computational Sciences, or a related technical/STEM discipline.
1+ years of experience in compiler development.
1+ years of experience in C/C++ and object-oriented programming.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with compiler development tools such as Clang, LLVM, MLIR.
Experience with vectorization and parallel programming models like OpenMP, SYCL, CUDA, or GPU programming.
Experience in performance analysis, optimization, and debugging.
Knowledge of x86 instruction set architecture and Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX)
