This role is within Intel’s Client Computing Group.CCG is a computing paradigm where services and data reside in scalable data centers, and those services and data can be accessed by any connected device over the Internet. Responsible for designing and optimizing processors, chipsets and other hardware for consumer devices while also working on the software ecosystem, including drivers and utilities that enhance user experience.
In this position, you will be part of the Pre-Silicon Design Quality and Reliability Engineer (Pre-Si QRE) group, supporting the development of CPU and Hard IPs on the most advanced Intel processes.
The Pre-Silicon Design Quality and Reliability Engineer will be responsible for pre-Silicon verification and execution of simulations in the design phase as well as developing new design methods, flows and tools for VLSI circuit IP and SoC projects.
Primary responsibilities are to collaborate with Hard IP and SoC design teams, perform quality audits in the design phase, risk assessments on pre-silicon design reliability and analysis of physical design performance verification (PV) as well as reliability verification (RV) results.
Key tasks include:
- Pre-silicon design modeling and correct-by-construction design simulation verifications to mitigate circuit marginalities in Device Aging, Interconnect Reliability (Electromigration), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Latch-Up (LU), Soft Error Reliability (SER) as well as design/package interactions. An important aspect of this role is to assess risks associated with design process marginalities and drive resolutions with partners from design architecture and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):
- PhD in EE with 3+ years or MSEE with 5+ years of experience or BS in EE with 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas - Design Verification, Design for Quality and Reliability, Performance Validation, Circuit, Logic and Physical Design.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Quality and Reliability aspects of a circuit design, awareness of the respective implications of Quality and Reliability requirements to the circuit design.
- Role models technical approaches to problems and uses group resources and beyond to implement creative solutions.
- Design knowledge in the areas of semiconductor reliability failure mechanisms such as device (transistor) aging, Interconnect Reliability, ESD, and Latch Up is a plus.
- Experience in programming using scripting languages such as Python, Perl and/or Shell scripting is a plus.
