The company designs, develops and sells flexible, real-time, safe and open semiconductor solutions named FPCU (Field Programmable Control Unit) for the automotive industry used to increase energy efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions while keeping passengers safe.
The Company is opening a "Electronic Board Design Manager" position in its main Research and Development center ideally located in the Sophia-Antipolis Technology Park on the French Riviera. As part of the System Engineering team, you will manage the development of electronic boards for automotive applications and supervise the laboratory. Silicon Mobility develops electronic boards for automotive application development, customers demonstration and SoC testing.
The primary responsibilities of the position are:
Technically lead the internal development of adaptation boards and validation.
Drive the design of electronic boards from the product requirements through the manufacturing and testing on a completely outsourced basis.
Perform acceptance of the deliveries.
Lead the review of the hardware requirements specification derived from Product requirements to the test plan definition.
Ensure that the board development quality process is applied by internal or outsourced team.
Collaborate with vendors and manage suppliers.
In addition, you will supervise the local laboratory and Technical Office Environment by:
Managing laboratory engineering team.
Driving the operations using the 5S methodology such as:
- logistical support,
- tools calibration and maintenance,
- boards tracking and maintenance,
- Bench/Board allocation according to schedule and project needs.
Implementing new processes, methods, and procedures, and monitoring progress.
Ensuring compliance with security policies, laboratory best practices and safety, regulatory and quality standards.
Lead the laboratory's supplies, equipment and anticipate requirements.
The position requires pro-active involvement with the Operations, Product and Engineering team.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Good university degree in microelectronics engineering
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in electronic board development.
Experience in team management/lead.
Strong communication skills and leadership.
Quality management (ISO 9001).
CAO tools for PCB design.
PCA testing.
Good technical expertise in electronic products (FPGAs, microcontrollers, boards).
Knowledge of low-level software for microcontroller programming and testing software.
Knowledge of debugging tools (JTAG box, Lauterbach debugger, etc.).
Analytical skills for debugging boards.
Experience in the automotive environment and constraints is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Fluent in English.
French speaking is a plus.

Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
