Electrical Validation Senior Manager
Job Description
Intel AI team is working to create world-class AI Processors, developed from ground-up and optimized for training deep neural networks and for inference deployment in production environments. We are looking for talented engineers to join our growing team.
The Electrical Validation Manager will lead a team of engineers responsible for the validation of high-speed interfaces and complex electrical subsystems, including PCIe, HBM, high-speed SerDes, and more. The manager will combine technical expertise and leadership to ensure successful validation of hardware solutions, guiding the team in executing comprehensive validation plans, troubleshooting issues, and delivering robust designs.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
- Oversee the electrical validation of high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, HBM, and SerDes.
- Develop and implement validation strategies and methodologies to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Perform hands-on validation tasks, including test execution, debugging, and analysis of hardware systems.
- Conduct reviews of test plans, validation reports, and technical documentation to maintain quality and consistency.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, protocols, and best practices in electrical validation.
Team Management and Mentorship:
- Lead, mentor, and guide the validation engineering team to achieve project objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support career development.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, firmware, and system engineers, to resolve issues and optimize performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for validation-related matters with stakeholders and management.
- Communicate technical findings and project status effectively to diverse audiences.
Project and Resource Management:
- Plan and allocate resources to meet project timelines and deliverables.
- Ensure validation processes and tools are efficient and meet project needs.
- Drive risk assessment and mitigation strategies during the validation phase.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all validation activities comply with applicable industry standards and certifications.
- Identify and address potential design and implementation issues proactively to improve overall product reliability.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in electrical validation or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Expertise in validating high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, HBM, and SerDes.
- Proven track record of hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, BERTs, protocol analyzers).
Skills:
- Strong understanding of high-speed signaling, electrical characterization, and system-level validation techniques.
- Proficiency in using simulation and analysis tools (e.g., SI/PI analysis tools).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience in scripting and automation for validation processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards like PCIe Gen5/6, HBM, and IEEE specifications.
- Knowledge of power integrity (PI) and signal integrity (SI).
Work Environment
- Combination of hands-on lab work and office-based tasks.
- Occasional travel may be required for collaboration with teams or vendors.
