Information Security Analyst
Job Description
Are you passionate about being an Information Security Professional and using your technical and analytical skills to make a tangible security difference? Our Cyber Defense team is seeking an Information Security Analyst to help manage our overall security compliance for Intel systems and applications. You will be a member of a highly collaborative Agile DevOps delivery team of information security professionals that are responsible for providing best-in-class security capabilities that keep Intel secure and deliver business value to our stakeholders.
This role requires a passion for quality, security, automation, and the skills to understand complex systems with a desire for continual improvement and innovation. You will analyze and leverage security data, apply your security knowledge to identify the associated risks, and develop actionable security solutions that help reduce Intel's risk posture. You will interpret and present the data to all levels within the organization to drive action and results.
As an Information Security Analyst your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- Analyze data from any IT or InfoSec source, including, but not limited to asset, vulnerabilities, patching, compliance, network, waivers, workers, locations.
- Responsible for analysis and support of asset and vulnerability management systems, including patching, compliance, software delivery, and inventory management functions.
- Configure and manage compliance reporting and utilize existing data repositories and reporting applications to reduce vulnerabilities and manage compliance.
- Test, debug, monitor, troubleshoot, and document asset discovery and business intelligence solutions to ensure optimal system performance, data quality, integrity, and accuracy.
- Develop and support security solutions that integrate and interface with customers.
- Assist with ongoing capability development on Intel's big bet platforms (SEER, Vulnerability Checker, Splunk) including future integrations/development.
- Work closely with software development engineers, system engineers, and other information security teams in supporting information security projects and initiatives.
- Complete ad-hoc reporting and data requests as needed.
- Support and work in an Agile and DevOps team focused on security analytics and solution development.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your degree, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (or equivalent degree) in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or any other science/engineering related field. Must have the required degree or expect required degree by July 2025
- A basic understanding of Information security models and concepts (vulnerability management, risk mitigation, emerging threats, vulnerabilities, exploits, etc.)
- Minimum 1 year experience in the following:
- Supporting Information Technology/Security Operations and Service Delivery
- Participating / Applying the Software Development Life Cycle model, Agile DevOps, SAFe Models
Preferred Qualifications
1+ year experience/coursework in:
- Information security certifications through industry recognized organizations such as: SANS, ISACA, ISC2 (e.g. CISSP/GSEC, MCSE, AWS, CCNA, ITIL).
- Understanding of cloud computing and cloud security components and industry standard information and security frameworks standards such as ISO 27001 or NIST CSF.
- Experience with various Information security functions; vulnerability management, security threat intelligence, Red Team tactics/techniques, governance, security offense/defense applications/tools, risk management.
- Experience with TCP/IP protocols as it relates to network security.
- Developing scripting and automation solutions to support system configuration, performance, and troubleshooting.
- Programming experience with at least one of the following scripting/development languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Splunk, Node.js).
- Windows and Linux administration (i.e., installation, configuration, and troubleshooting).
- Understanding of and hands-on experience with various server/system architectures, operating systems, system patching, system and security configuration, auditing, and automation.
- Understanding of compliance reporting capabilities and how to utilize existing data repositories and reporting applications to manage compliance.
- Understanding of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, exploits and mitigation strategies.
In addition, the ideal candidate should also demonstrate the following behavioral skills:

- Strong analytical, problem solving, and influencing skills to help solve challenges
- Strong focus on quality results, detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills
