Job Description
Intel Dalian Memory Technology and Manufacturing (DMTM) is high-volume manufacturing memory fab in Intel China working on leading edge 3D NAND product. Intel and SK Hynix have an agreement for SK Hynix to acquire Intel's NAND memory and storage business. and Intel will continue to manufacture NAND wafers at the Dalian memory manufacturing until the final closing expected to occur in March 2025. Intel DMTM will continue to build on the success of our NAND technology at a greater scale, play a larger role in supporting our customers.
RDA Sustaining Engineers are responsible for real-time defect analysis/response, and directing the sustaining/improvement efforts for yield and equipment performance for process areas Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Addressing SPC process and defect related issues
- Dispositioning OOC product in a timely and quality driven manner
- Characterizing the process response to parameters
- Defining the process margin with respect to upstream and downstream steps
- Partnering with PI and other groups to address yield issues
- Qualifying conversions and new processes
- Improving the process cost of ownership, throughput, and performance
- Optimizing existing process and reducing scrap and excursions
- Ensuring that all SWRs are processed correctly and in a timely manner
- Assisting 1st shift engineering and vendors with long-term down equipment
- Creating and submitting SWRs and change notices to evaluate and implement process changes
- Reviewing QDR trends and reacting accordingly
- Partnering with Production and shift engineering to implement corrective actions for excursions
- Addressing process-related SWRs
- Partnering with global counterparts to identify and align to best known methods
- Setting up contamination, defect, and performance qualification procedures and frequency
- Assuming additional duties and projects as directed by the supervisor
Working any shift and rotate shifts as required:
- Advanced understanding of semiconductor processes and equipment
- Advanced understanding of SPC principles
- Solid understanding of designing and testing experiments
- Basic understanding of probe and param functions
- Proven ability to communicate and present effectively
- Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Advanced data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills
- Proven ability in multi-tasking complex projects
- Strong partnering and teamwork skills
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems and address root cause
- Intermediate understanding of all systems used in the area (GeRM, MTSPC, MESSWR, Sigma, Yield3, MESQDR, MESCentral, PCA and Klarity)
This position is associated with the sale of Intel's NAND memory and storage business to SK. This transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage, and you will be joining a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK group. We will keep you informed updates and steps related to this transaction.
Qualifications
Hold a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering Materials Science Physics Chemistry or Chemical Engineering relevant major
10+ years of direct experiences in integration device defect reduction yield analysis or process engineering organizations is required
Direct experience in 3D NAND technology development transfer ramping and sustaining are preferred
A proven history of technical problem solving through the creation of solutions that demonstrated creativity and out of box thinking
Excellent data extraction and analysis skills and well versed in DOE principlesUnderstanding of device physics in deciphering parametric data and understanding of fundamental integration and yield issues for key modules and critical device parameters are required
Understand defect metrology tool work principle capability inline detection challenge and have thoughts on opportunities
Demonstrating advanced understanding of electrical testing and device characterization and physics
Ability to multitask and be effective in providing timely solutions
Strong organizational and communication skills to manage tasks across Process Engineering areas to effectively execute and commit to deliverables.
