Senior SAP Basis and HANA Engineer

Job Description

Intel's SAP Basis team is seeking enthusiastic System Administrators who will play key role in implementation, optimization, migration and maintenance of SAP Product Suites running on S4 HANA, ABAP, Java, BO, Cloud stacks amongst others.

Roles and Responsibility -

• You will be part of Basis Engineering Team and will have complete ownership of one or multiple SAP systems like S/4 HANA, ECC, Business Objects, Information Steward, Data Services, SLT, BI, IBP Cloud, SCM etc.
• You will ensure an efficient planning, provisioning, installation/configuration, maintenance, and/or operations of the owned system (applications and databases).
• You will have to ensure that your systems remain healthy and stable 24x7 while also working proactively to identify and avoid potential performance bottlenecks.
• Partner with infrastructure teams for maintenance and upkeep of SAP servers.
• You will also partner with several stakeholders in our global workplace setting, will gather and assess their technical requirements from Technical and Infrastructure aspect and map them with system capabilities.
• You will convert their requirements into technical specs and recommend optimal Platform solutions for SAP Projects while working closely with Platform Architects.
• You will also have responsibility to perform proof-of-concepts and pilots on several upcoming cutting-edge design projects and subsequently document the findings and assessment.
• You will establish process for new capabilities and create troubleshooting guides.
• You will be providing Level 3 On-call support for SAP Basis and HANA/SQL Server databases during India hours while adhering to SLAs and OLAs.
• As part of ownership, you will be responsible for taking periodic planned maintenance downtimes during stipulated window on your systems and ensure a smooth execution of such activities through proactive planning and preparations.
• You will be expected to independently perform major Software (Version, EHP, Support Pack), Hardware (OS/DB) and Kernel upgrades on a complex landscape comprising of Clusters and High Availability for servers and storage.
• Regular interaction and partnership with vendors to deep dive for new capability explore projects and during investigation and troubleshooting of issues and problems.
• Responsibility to keep the environment secure and compliant by applying periodic security patches and upgrades performed at application, database and operating system levels.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related discipline.
• SAP Basis and HANA database administration experience of minimum 7+ years (Implementation and support).
• Knowledge of architecture of an SAP System, Application Server (AS) ABAP and Application Server (AS) Java.
• Experience with SAP S4, ERP, SCM, CRM, SRM, SAP Solution Manager, MDG, PO/PI/XI, BO/BI, IS/DS, SLT, Fiori and S/4 HANA solutions.
• Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and SAP Cloud ALM.
• Deep Knowledge of communication protocols like RFC, ODATA and Authentication protocols like SSO, SNC, SSL, SAML, LDAP etc.
• Experience of Windows Server 2022, MS SQL server database administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Cluster and High Availability concepts.
• Database administration, optimization and migration (HANA, MSSQL).
• Software maintenance, monitoring, configuring log/trace files.
• Installing Enhancement packs and support packages.
• Knowledge of Data Center network and storage fundamentals.
• Fast learner, self-motivated and ability to influence across organizations, proven collaboration skills, comfortable working with a very high degree of ambiguity, ability to make quick and informed decisions to handle crisis situations.
• Ability to work well in cross-geo teams and working with global customers.
• Understanding of running SAP on Azure and AWS will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge on ITIL Service Management and DevOps tools (Service Now, JIRA) will be considered a plus.
• Automation skills on PowerShell, Python, RPA tools etc. will be a significant plus.
• Should be self-driven, disciplined and customer oriented and should have passion for quality and attention to details.
