Silicon Photonics Wafer Level Test Development Engineer
Job Description
This is an opportunity to join the rapidly growing Intel New Mexico team as a Silicon Photonics Wafer Level Test Development Engineer. As a Wafer Level Test Development Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise and creativity to develop first-of-a-kind wafer level testing capability for Intel's leading edge Silicon Photonics devices. With the opportunity to partner with industry leaders in Silicon Photonics device design and manufacturing, you would be an integral part in developing these devices by providing test solutions and providing input on how to optimize designs, you would also be an important part of supporting these devices for manufacturing and manufacturing process optimization.
You will have an opportunity to create and drive the Silicon Photonics test technology roadmap to meet the testing needs of these emerging products. You will be able to develop strong relationships with your upstream and downstream customers to facilitate your work. In this role you would provide end to end testing development solutions. With the opportunity to partner with equipment suppliers to select components for your testing development, you can make full use of your imagination to develop your dream testers to accomplish your tasks. You will provide input for Probe Card design to meet your requirement. You would utilize your coding skills to write software to execute the tests and create algorithms to extract parameters from the collected data to enable classification of novel devices and designs to provide critical input during novel device design and manufacturing process development.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. with 4-year industry experience or M.S. with 2-year industry experience or PhD with 1-year industry experience and the following skills/experience:
- Direct experience in semiconductor or optical devices such as lasers, electro-optic modulators, semiconductor optical amplifiers, and PIN/APD receivers
- Experience with semiconductor test equipment, such as parameter analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and switch matrices
- Experiences programming and debugging data processing algorithms in object-oriented languages (C#, Python, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical background in optical communication components and/or systems
- Experienced with laser diode characterization and equipment for L-I-V characterization, beam profiling, spectral characterization (RIN/SMSR).
- 2+ years Applied research or Product/Process Development experience or
- 2+ years of experience with statistical data analysis and process control for test and process characterization and yield analysis
- Relevant hands-on experience in wafer level testing of photonic devices such as VCSELs and solid-state light sources, optical transceivers, with proven ability to integrate hardware and software into high volume test solutions.
- Experience in characterizing RF components.
- Knowledge of Photonics theory and operating principles
