Software Security Validation Engineer
Job Description
Validates and debugs software across the stack for a specific product, platform, feature, or technology. Designs and develops a software validation environment, the integration, and the enabling of the software stack. Responsible for the creation of validation plans, automation, associated methodologies, and triage and debugging of failures.
Writes validation standards and procedures, analyzes the results to ensure correct functionality, triages failures, and recommends or develops corrective action. Assesses the state of the art and employs new methods to improve quality, automation, and product release efficiency.
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Security validation is one of the focus areas for this role.
Qualifications
Minimal Qualifications:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field with 2 years of programming experience.
Knowledge of both Windows and Unix based operating systems environments.
Good knowledge of software programming languages (C/C++).
Good knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Unix-shell, Python).
Good knowledge of Source Control Management tools (GitHub)
Basic knowledge of unit testing concepts.
Good problem-solving skills, structured approach to your work.
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of programming experience.
Previous experience in automotive software and hardware environment.
Familiarity with reading and understanding software requirements and documentation.
Experience in key security concepts like cryptography, data encryption, key/certificate management
Familiarity with security standards and certifications (e.g., FIPS).
Previous experience in working with security related components (HSM, ROT, Secure Boot, key-storage, Secure Element, Android StrongBox)
Previous experience in security validation activities, fuzzing, pen testing, vulnerability assessment.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum practices and of Project Management systems (e.g JIRA)
Good organizational skills and a very structured approach to your work.
Ability to work with distributed teams.
Able to execute complex tasks with high level of independence.
