Platform Support Technician
Job Description
Join Intel as a Platform Support Technician. The Platform Support Technician is responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities. Work performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems. This is a fast-paced ambiguous environment, requiring a combination of hardware, software and networking skills with a diligent focus on customer orientation.
In this role responsibilities include, although not limited to:
Enables engineering development efforts by managing and maintaining the lab environment.
Deployment of automated tests, triages, and root cause issues which have setup issues, removal or redeployment of tests needing software and/or hardware upgrades, and/or performing electrical, mechanical, or software troubleshooting to establish problems in nonfunctioning lab equipment.
Designs and develops customized equipment, fixtures, and/or protocols to enable highly accurate execution of lab activities.
Monitors tests and quality assurance of equipment and performs equipment modifications as directed.
Develops technical documentation, including functional specifications and requirements, manufacturing test specifications, qualification test plans, product change notices, and standard operating procedures of equipment and processes.
Drives logistics management and physical set up of prototype systems and peripheral devices, monitors inventory levels and restocks supplies, and maintains inventory reports and logs.
Participates in the definition, selection, procurement, commissioning, and validation of equipment and instrumentation needed for testing.
Ensures test results are recorded accurately and in adherence to established quality practices.
Performs preventive maintenance and good laboratory housekeeping, establishes, maintains, and conducts routine testing of benches, testers, and other equipment.

Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to successfully lead a complex, cross-organization program.
Strong communication skills- ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and aware of progress and help needed for program deliverables.
Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence decision-making.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of experience - OR - AA/AS with 6+ years of experience - OR - a Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of experience in:
Building up and maintaining servers and/or client systems (Ubuntu Linux, Familiarity with Intel server platforms)
Configuring BIOS, BMC, Upgrading Firmware, Driver Installs
Conducting Independently debugs on cards, boards, and systems
This position is not eligible for Intel Immigration sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating/modifying training and processes documentation and execution plans for these and other tasks.
Experience or relevant knowledge with Inventory Management
Experience or relevant knowledge with shipping / receiving logistics
Experience in removing/installing /troubleshooting server baseboards, CPU's, DIMM's, and storage devices
Experience with OS installations
Set up and configuration of Data Center Infrastructure
Willing to lift 50 lbs. independently
