Inventory Support Technician
Job Description
The ITDC Datacenter Infrastructure Management team owns the planning, delivery, and operation of all ITDC global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all ITDC data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across ITDC to help us deliver the highest standards for quality and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. The successful incumbent in this role will but not limited to:
Maintain daily in/outbound shipping, cleanliness, and organization of the DC and inventory room
Identify opportunities and lead projects for continuous improvement of inventory practices
Identify, label and stage materials properly for inbound and outgoing equipment and parts requests
Maintain laboratory material through organizing, cleaning designated shipping areas on a regular basis
Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of components in designated shipping and storage areas
Coordinate with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency within our department
Work closely with procurement management and infrastructure technicians
Keep up to date and organized spares inventory
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Education Required:
The candidate must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of experience - OR - AA/AS with 2+ years of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum Qualifications
1 + years experience ownership of inventory management, system implementation and maintenance, including audits
1 + years experience of maintaining and organizing inventory control system of parts to be used in IDC Data Centers
1+ years experience of Packaging and Unpackaging items, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks when needed
1+ years of experience in proven inventory management practices and methods
1+ year with Microsoft Office applications and computer software
1+ years working experience with Service Now, including reporting
1 + years experience with shipping and receiving logistics
Good written and oral communication skills
Valid driver's licenses
Desired
Occupational hazards, safety precautions and safe work practices.
JIRA experience
Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
