Infrastructure System Engineer
Job Description
Manufacturing Automation (MA) systems at Intel are designed with capability and reliability in mind, as they support the 7x24 operations of the global factory network. Our Durable Core Team (DCT) engineers work 12 hour shifts in a compressed work week schedule and our DCT Platforms engineers operate in the MA Compute Client and Storage (MCCS) service in the Infrastructure and Data Engineering organization. This role is for a DCT Platforms Engineer for the day and night shift rotation.
This team supports, installs, tests and configures a host of Windows, UNIX and Virtual Machines (VMs), plus storage and cloud hosting environments for huge amounts of critical factory data. They are the first point of escalation for our Manufacturing Service Desk (MSD) and provide Level Two operations support for platforms systems issues. They utilize predictive analysis and automated monitoring to advance troubleshooting on issues using Model Based Problem Solving MBPS methodologies.
Members actively participate in global teams to drive continuous improvement and achieve systems health goals, as well as emerging capability needs. As a DCT Engineer you need to be an enthusiastic team player - and an individual who is driven by a Customer First ethos. You should have excellent communication, stakeholder management and networking skills and be motivated to continuously learn.
This role is a combination of reactive and planned work at your desk and in the Data Centre. You will be a key member of the global infrastructure team and will also work with other MA engineers, vendors and other IT functions to land equipment and deploy proven state-of-the-art compute, client and storage technology.

Qualifications
Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Applied Science, or related field.
Technical knowledge in computing infrastructure components, data centres, and system support.
Knowledge in software programming such as Python, C#.
Knowledge in PowerShell and Power BI.
Strong understanding of network technologies and IP stack (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, etc.)
Strong understanding of Cloud Technologies: Docker, ContainerD, Kubernetes, Rancher, Object Storage, Software defined Storage (LongHorn)
Ability to function in a global 24x7 support environment, interacting with a large number of teams. Highly flexible, results-oriented and customer first mindset.
Strong project management, verbal and written skills.
Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues in a high pressure environment.
Understanding of Agile frameworks, ITIL6. GitHub, CI/CD.
