Power Delivery/Power Electronics Intern
Job Description
Join as an intern with one of the largest engineering companies in the world.
The Datacenter Power Solutions (DPS) team works to design, test, and validate systems power delivery solutions for Intel servers and related computing systems. We work within the Platform Hardware Engineering Division to create reference designs supporting the newest Xeon and Atom CPUs. We partner with board, package, and thermo-mechanical teams to create designs including entry-level and high-end servers, and large-scale supercomputers. Once released, these designs are leveraged by computer manufacturers to quickly bring their platforms to market, while other designs are themselves consumer products.
As an intern, you will be required to work with a global team of stakeholders within Intel, to define the most cost-effective power delivery scheme that delivers the highest levels of performance for server platform reference designs that will be provided to the industry. In addition to architecting the power delivery scheme, the individual will also be responsible for working with the platform design teams to implement the Voltage Regulator (VR) solutions using discrete VR components or Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs). The candidate will be working with the lab teams to characterize the performance of the VR solutions and verify their correct implementation on the reference platforms and support customers with adoption of the reference design. The position requires experience with programming languages (Python, C++) and a good understanding of power solutions (like DC-DC converters, Power stages, and Controllers) and server platform requirements. You will be essentially responsible for the power delivery solution from architecture thru implementation to validation and deployment on customer designs.
To start in Q2 2025. This a 9-12 month internship.

Minimum of 6 months of experience in:
- Power Electronics course work.
- Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) layout and/or schematics.
- Programming languages as C/C++, Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
Power Delivery, Power conversion, Power Integrity, Voltage regulator (VR) design, modeling, and/or simulation.
Lab skills such as multimeter, oscilloscope, system and bench testing.
