Linux Validation Engineer Lead
Job Description
Conducts validation and debug of operating system software through the design and development of software validation environment. Creates validation plans and associated methodologies, as well as debugging failures. Writes validation standards and procedures, analyzes the results to ensure correct functionality, determines root causes of failures, and recommends or develops corrective action. Assesses the state of the art and employs new methods to improve quality and product release efficiency.Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree - Software development/integration/validation- Domain knowledge in the areas of Linux kernel, hypervisors and open source operating systems - Familiarity with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE, or others - Strong collaboration and communication skills - Passion to work with the open source community - Proven track record in automating test cases and systems under testing. - Experience in automating and building Continuous Integration and Continuous development environment - Experience in building scalable validation systems in multi site/GEO environment. - Capable of managing and assigning team of engineers - Experience in providing meaningful automated test reports Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in building Linux Kernel Continuous Integration and Continuous development systems with many users. - Experience with hardware installation, instrumentation and lab building - Experience working in open source automation projects - Capable of modifying HW according to instructions, removing and installing new components by soldering. - Capable of using different type of logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
