Job Description
The ITDC Datacenter Infrastructure Management team owns the planning, delivery, and operation of all ITDC global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all ITDC data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

Intel Tiber Developer Cloud is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team and are looking for technology managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding and the drive and vision to take ITDC Data Center Operations to the next level.
The successful candidate will have experience creating/devising strategies, mentoring people in all levels, sponsoring projects and proposing technical solutions. This position involves leading teams in hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair. All candidates should be willing to work both independently and managing their teams effectively. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.
In addition to strong knowledge in Data Centers, hardware and network repair, candidates will create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site-level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7.
Responsibilities:
- On-site management of a team of technicians and support engineers with varying skills
- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
- Guide, train and educate staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs
- Manage and deliver datacenter projects
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
- Work with the Facilities Team to maintain the critical equipment infrastructure
- Work with the Facilities Team to implement regular maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
- Work with the Facilities Team to coordinate equipment repairs and replacements
- Review and maintain incident response and reporting procedures
- Oversee work of external vendors, service providers, and contractors
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's/BS Degree and/or prolonged course of study in specialized field or equivalent experience per business needs/job requirements. Bachelor's/BS / 9+ years, Master's Degree in related field/6+ years, PHD/4+ years
- 3+ years' experience in data center operations management
- 2+ years of experience managing and developing people in a technical environment
- 3+ years of networking experience and knowledge of cabling best practices
- 3+ years of experience with hardware architectures and troubleshooting experience
- 3+ years of experience with system management tools and client/server environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of data center management tools and monitoring systems.
- Technical writing experience
- Project management experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, HIPAA). Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Flexibility to work within a 24/7/365 operational setting, adapting to varying work schedules as required
- The position involves physical activities such as lifting and moving equipment, alongside exposure to typical data center conditions (e.g., noise levels, temperature variations)
- Capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform tasks requiring climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Proficient in performing manual tasks, including typing, handling, and manipulating objects, with the ability to extend hands and arms
- Visual acuity for near and distant objects, as well as color vision
- Ability to ascend ladders, including those extending over 12 feet in height
- Comfort with working in a dynamic, high-pressure environment with shifting priorities
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and in an on-call capacity
