Manufacturing Network Engineer
Job Description
- Determines and deploys robust, stable, and manageable IT network infrastructure and computing services.
- Supporting and implementing highly critical manufacturing network changes.
- Designs and implements new network solutions, supports network server services, and recommends actions to improve the efficiency of current networks.
- Works with customers to determine network requirements and proposes and implements standard designs that meet customer needs.
- Performs network design and implementation and provides network support for projects that may be enterprise wide initiatives to localized solutions, and/or may span across multiple departments or functions.
- Scans the market to assess technology, product, and tools applicable to Intel's network environment, performs impact analysis of new technologies on environment, and explores new solutions that drive efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Troubleshoots and conducts root cause analysis of incidents to identify appropriate solutions that resolve network issues across the organization.
- Monitors and performs capacity studies, delivers proactive reporting and monitoring, and performs network upgrades.
- Automates manual repeatable tasks through scripting to drive efficiency and eliminate errors.
- Maintains and controls computer networks and related computing environments, coordinates, plans, monitors, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Adapts and learns new technology and partners with other IT organizations for knowledge building.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science and 3+ years of experience -OR- a master's degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science and 2+ years of experience -OR- a PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- 3+ years of practical experience installing/configuring Cisco and/or related/similar network equipment.
- Previously certified CCNA or wiling to obtain CCNA certification within 12 months.
- Ability to carefully follow change control processes and create and follow a detailed plan.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNP Certification.
- Experience Working in Agile teams.
- Cisco ACI architecture and products experience.
- Scripting (especially Ansible) to help drive automation.
