Cloud Software Architect SW-Defined Storage
Job Description
Join Intel as a Cloud Software Architect specializing in Software-Defined Storage (SDS). In this role, you will architect, design, and provide technical oversight and direction for the development of Intel's cloud software products, including system software, frameworks, protocols, algorithms, and applications. You will also be responsible for software structure and validation direction.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Architect and design software-defined storage solutions for Intel's cloud software products, andprovide technical oversight and direction for the development of system software, frameworks, protocols, algorithms, and applications, as well as software structure and validation direction.
Research and design optimal end-to-end cloud computing software solutions for various environments, including cloud, cloud-native, orchestration, enterprise, edge, IoT, telco cloud, service mesh, networking, microservices, and distributed computing.
Engage with major customers to understand use cases and participate in open source and standardization industry work to influence architectures and optimize software.
Interact with technologists and product managers across Intel to evaluate the feasibility of requirements and determine development priorities.
Make high-level design choices focused on manageability, scalability, usability, resiliency, availability, security, and safety for software structure, protocols, and algorithms.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of experience, OR a Master's Degreewith 6+ years of experience, OR a PhD with 4+ years of experiencein Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or technical Stem-related field.
4+ years of experience in architecting and implementing enterprise and cloud-scale, mission-critical solutions.
4+ yearsof experience in engineering and implementing Software-Defined Storage solutions for private or public clouds, enterprises, or telco industries.
4+ years of knowledge of datacenter storage hardware, protocols, software implementations, control plane/orchestration, and data plane.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with public cloud storage offerings such as EBS, EFS, and S3.
Experience in designing and building storage solutions for AI/ML, HPC, and other I/O intensive workloads at multi-petabyte scale.
Experience in implementing and supporting one or more SDS solutions (e.g., Weka.IO, VAST, Ceph, MinIO).
Knowledge of Kubernetes, especially its storage interface (CSI).
Understanding of datacenter designs and processes, networking hardware (e.g., Arista, Cisco), protocols, and interconnects.
Experience in datacenter storage management, automation, and monitoring.

Working Model
This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
