Director of Data Governance and Risk Management
Job Description
Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced Director of Data Governance and Risk Management to lead our IT Data Governance Services and partner with business data leads to enhance our data governance framework. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing executive-level dashboard views, simplifying the data governance landscape, and serving as the primary point of contact for data risk management issues. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in data security, risk assessment, and operational data governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of IT Data Governance Services, collaborating closely with business data leads to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
- Develop and enhance Data Governance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), creating executive-level dashboard views for monitoring and reporting.
- Implement a pragmatic Data Governance Framework and corresponding Roadmap to streamline governance processes.
- Act as the primary liaison for Data Risk Management with Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, and Information Systems Security teams.
- Lead Data Security integrations in partnership with Information Systems Security, ensuring robust data protection measures.
- Define and oversee the Data Risk Framework, ensuring it is fit for use and aligns with the Technology Division's objectives.
- Establish a pragmatic Data Governance and Risk assessment approach, conducting periodic assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Manage operational data governance and data risk management for all Data Services and capabilities.
- Coordinate and address Data Risk Action Items, Issues, and Exceptions, ensuring data services and asset repositories are audit-ready.
- Establish Data Operational Risk Management Controls and Monitoring Processes/Procedures that are fit for purpose.
- Define and enhance data access rights and usage approvals for data assets managed by the organization.
- Advise data teams on Data Access, Consent, Classification, Control Placements, and Remediation strategies.
- Serve as a liaison to Business Continuity Planning for data-related impact events, in collaboration with Trade and Compliance.
- Lead catastrophic event planning and assessment for data assets, enhancing shut-off value controls.
- Consult with Data Architects and Solutions teams to ensure data risk is proactively identified and addressed.
- Support the development and adoption of data policies, focusing on best practices and regulatory requirements for data housed by the organization.
- Lead communications to deliver the data governance and risk management framework and plans to stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey key messages to diverse stakeholders and provide training.
- Mid to high level of technical proficiency in Data and Applications Risk Management.
- Working knowledge of Data Governance Policies, Classifications, and Privacy Functionality (experience with Collibra preferred).
- Experience in devolving Data Enterprise Groups Resources Communities

Qualifications
- 10 – 12 years of experience in data management, data governance, or data risk management.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Risk Management, Computer Systems Management, Computer Engineering, or Data Analytics.
- Relevant security and/or risk management certifications.

Working Model
This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.Position of TrustThis role is a Position of Trust.
