FPGA CQE Engineering Manager
Job Description
As FPGA CQE Engineering Manager, you will lead, grow, and develop the FPGA CQE and FA teams in Asia (Malaysia, China, Japan), supporting Altera customers on product quality/reliability issues, driving debug and resolution of FPGA failure analysis. As a team/people manager, you will drive and get results across different teams and organizations, ensuring an inclusive and collaborative work environment for your team, managing performance to maximize results, productivity, technical growth, and career development.Primary team deliverables (product quality/reliability issue support and resolution, FPGA returns failure analysis, root cause, quality corrective/preventive actions) will drive ongoing product and process quality improvements through Altera through key learnings and performance indicators. Deliverables will be done while partnering with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Applications, Operations, Sales/Marketing) for quality systems integration, new product rollout, product support/FA readiness, and product lifecycle quality management.
Direct customer support is a crucial aspect of this manager position, working with external end customers, internal Altera partners, and other Intel business units. As the team manager, your roles also include technical leadership and resolution of critical product quality issues, building and growing key customer relationships, collaborating with peer stakeholders, and partnering and leading strategic projects in Altera Engineering.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- University BS/BA degree in Engineering: electrical/electronics, computer, hardware/systems or similar
- 7 years of technical industry experience in semiconductor/electronics/computer field or similar, with focus on silicon product support, debug, failure analysis and fault isolation
- Past experience managing engineers and technical personnel
- Strong attention to detail and numerical analysis for cost, scheduling, resourcing
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written/presentation - ranging from technical low-level to executive summary-level
- Demonstrated ability to work across department boundaries in resolving obstacles and challenges, building alignment and consensus agreement
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12+ years of technical industry experience in semiconductor/electronics/computer field or similar, with focus on silicon product support, debug, failure analysis and fault isolation on FPGA/ASIC/CPU/DSP products
- Demonstrated program/project management capability and experience, as a project/program lead or in cross-functional environment
- Experience meeting directly/in-person with end-customers as a primary presenter and factory representative, covering and addressing technical product quality and FA related topics and challenges
