GPU Software Validation Engineer
Job Description
Defines, develops, and performs functional validation for GPUs, focusing on validation of interaction of GPUs, media, display and system level features.
Applies various hardware and software level tools and techniques to ensure validation coverage and that performance, power, and area goals are met. Reviews proposed design changes to assess impact on validation plans, tasks, and timelines.
Develops GPU software validation methodologies, creates and executes validation plans, and collaborates with other engineers for design optimization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
Performs debug to identify help root cause functional issues and triage failures. Tests interactions between various GPU software features using validation infrastructure.
Develops validation infrastructure (e.g., performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state space coverage) and test environment used in validation testing.
Publishes validation reports summarizing all validation activities performed, reviews results, and communicates to relevant teams. Works with engineering, architecture, design, verification, and other component teams to maintain and improve debug, validation test strategy, methodologies, and processes for graphics interfaces and to meet desired product specifications.
Key Roles: Validation of new Software Builds and Features, Triage and Filing Issue Reports, Platform Maintenance and New Product/Release bring up, Test Plan Development and Execution, Cross component team coordination and leadership, Validation Result Reporting.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field and 5+ years of hands-on experience OR
Masters’ degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field and 5+ years of hands-on experience OR
The experience must include:
- Foundation and understanding of validating graphics hardware and software, especially knowledge of software and graphics user interfaces and standard API's and frameworks such as WinAppSDK, UWP and XAML.
- Experience with software validation and automation related tools such as Jira, Teamviewer and Python programming expertise will be an advantage
- Experience with debugging complex software issues and issue triage with large validation data report filing is required
Preferred qualifications:
8+ years of experience in any of the minimum required skills mentioned above will be considered as preferred.
Additionally:
2+ years of experience in:
- Knowledge of software development, especially software life cycle and validation cycles is critical.
- Experience building and maintaining PC systems and hardware in a lab environment
