Industry and Market Analyst
Job Description
The Industry and Market Analyst position is in DMTM Strategic Capability team, within Site Strategic Office (SSO), this role will play as site ears, eyes and window to whole NAND memory market and semiconductor industry. This role will also connect with external resources for more comprehensive benchmarking, environment scan, and market intelligence. The position requires a combination of business acumen, organization savvy, expertise in certain technical areas, clear communication, as well as strong analytical, business partnership and influence skills. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the skills to build and foster relationships across different organizations and have a high tolerance for ambiguity while maintaining strong bias for action.
Key responsibilities:
Research competitors' activity, market drivers and technology developments around semi-industry Fab, product, equipment, spares and ecosystem, to gain a deep understanding for current and emerging industry trends. This will include analysis at a hardware, software, supply side, and demand side across the entire industry and ecosystem / value chain.
Research and collect data about NAND/SSD markets by searching all the available channels like reviewing public company earnings, participating in analyst days, reading press releases, financial statements, and many other sources including summits and events. Write and publish reports on market and technology trends on a timely basis.
Support global / regional and country level forecasts and analysis by providing detailed insight into market trends.
Build and update models at the direction of business requirements, Maintain and update customized databases to cater key clients' needs, collaborate with other site internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage and communicate results to site management team.
Maintain close relationships with key 3rd party consultant vendors, and equipment or material suppliers for deep dive per requirements.
Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant field (engineering will be a plus).
Min 5 years' semiconductor industry relative experience or market research field experience, like the experience in semiconductor company's relative position, market intelligence provider or consultant company etc.
Understand the key business drivers and research needs of companies in the semiconductor value chain and deliver research appropriately.
Strong analytical, benchmark and problem-solving abilities, the capability to identify cost or technology improvement opportunities will be a plus.
Strong ability to handle multiple sources of information, excellent forecasting skills with strong attention to details.
