Systems and Solutions Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the Client Computing Engineering Hardware team as a Platform Hardware Engineer.
This individual will be part of a larger a cross functional Architecture/Engineering team (i.e., Board/System Arch and Design, Power Delivery/Integrity, FW, BIOS, PnP, etc.) for collaborating with the cross-functional team to solve customer issues.
In this position you will be joining a team with the vision to provide world-class customer service.
By joining the Client Computing Group as a Systems and Solutions Engineer where you will expand Intel's reach in the Laptop/DT/AIO/EWKS/Xeon WKS through customer advocacy, enabling and support.
In this role you will have an exciting opportunity to apply your technical knowledge to enable the next generation platform designs and have primary responsibility for Tier 1 customers
You will also be deeply involved with the worldwide teams to enable the high-touch program on the next-gen intel platform solutions.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, board design reviews, developing and presenting technical product training, guiding, and supporting the customer through design tool usage, and complex debugging of design issues.
You will also collaborate with internal and external teams as a customer advocate.
Responsibilities will include:
Responsible for timely technical support and addressing questions during the product design phase, system power-on, debugging, and validation support for customer hardware platform designs.
Answering customer technical questions during the design enabling and design-in phases of the platform.
Perform schematic and layout review for customer designs.
Providing technical training to Customers.
Collaboration with Intel product related development team with respect to customer requirements and market dynamics.
Provide on-site/on-demand technical support as needed.
Reproduce issues on Intel CRBs.
System level debug experience using a logical and methodical approach.
Qualifications
Experienced electrical engineer with PC design and validation background and component enabling experiences.
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
10+ years of relevant work experience in the Intel x86 Architecture Client PC system development.
English and Mandarin, writing, reading and listening should be business fluent.
Good project management skills is required.
Fundamental understanding of Intel Architecture Processors and Chipsets.
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multicultural and global team based in multiple worldwide locations.
Knowledge and experience in schematic, printed circuit board layout, and typical lab tools
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment.
Relevant know how of processes for professional hardware development flows over a full life cycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Intel Client PC technologies including overall Intel x86 tech, platform power, clocking and timing, JEDEC Memory standard interface, PCIe SIG standard interface, USB IF standard interface, high speed I/O interface, Display standard interface and general SI/PI field.
Design experience or working knowledge of Intel Architecture systems, Chipsets, or processors.
Experience with customer system/board power-on (PO) activities including debug and issue root cause analysis.
Able to follow a logical and methodical approach to solve customer reported issues
Signal integrity experience or knowledge will be added advantage.
Experience with HW Debuggers and system BIOS.
Experience with Python scripting environment.
Experience with lab test equipment to support debug activities including electrical waveform capture and analysis.
