Job Description


The explosive growth of Artificial Intelligence across all industries represents a tremendous opportunity for Intel, and one of the most exciting areas for growth is in data center AI systems and technologies. It is ever more important for Intel systems and technologies to support a variety of AI, HPC, enterprise and cloud workloads. We need to architect and design and innovate scalable systems that encompass software, compute, connectivity, memory, security, sustainability, and other foundational technologies.

The Office of Chief Architect within the Data Center and Artificial Intelligence group Is chartered with defining leading edge data center architectures optimized for best-in-class performance, power and total cost of ownership across the entire system stack from user level software frameworks through network, platform, all system components including CPU, GPU, and accelerator architectures. 

Specifically, we are seeking an AI and HPC Scale-out Systems architect who will be responsible for future system architectures, supporting our longer-term designs and engaging with both government and industry partners.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Architecting large scale systems which support breakthrough performance on HPC and AI workloads to shape Intel’s IP and SOC roadmap
  • Partnering with product management and systems design teams across Intel to drive the requirements across Systems, Software, and SOCs
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies and trends in distributed systems and network topologies.
  • Driving pathfinding into new technology choices that would enhance future systems.
  • Collaborating with industry and government partners that could include co-funding emerging technology research and development
  • Fostering close customer and ISV relationships to collaborate on system and technology requirements, .
  • Taking the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity.

  • Credible with corporate executives and technologist community
  • Broad customer and industry acumen including demonstrating market-level influence through appearances at conferences, industry/standards and academic forums (e.g. panelist, president or board member, etc.)
  • Ability to anticipate and plan for and incubate transformative technologies to drive product growth and influence new business models
  • Innovative thinker, smart, sharp and adept at understanding, integrating and applying key ecosystem insights and considerations into Intel technology and development strategies.
  • Strong and influential in identifying future technical talent needs.
  • Hands-on and in-depth technical domain expertise in Architecture, PnP analysis and SoC implementation, with good knowledge of best-in-class SoC design practices, post-Silicon product and platform validation, System Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.

Qualifications


  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with 10+years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in and experience with scale-out AI and HPC system architecture.
  • Expertise in network topologies and knowledge of distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of commonly used AI and HPC workloads and how they are mapped onto large scale systems.
  • Strong understanding of CPU, GPU, and accelerator architectures and how each is best leveraged by a broad portfolio of workloads.
  • Mix of broad technology knowledge in Datacenter and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Presults driving business outcomes.
  • Proactively champions diversity, sponsoring talent and creating an inclusive environment; creates safe environments where all employees are heard and can do their best work; seeks and welcomes feedback on his/her own performance and leadership.
  • Be a champion of Intel’s tech leadership pipeline and community.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $283,060.00-$509,500.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
